Eloping in Downtown Houston

Happy couple that just eloped in Downtown Houston

Jump with joy after eloping in Downtown Houston

There’s a misconception that elopements are just quick affairs at the courthouse or somewhere secret and that’s the end of it. For some reason or another couples think that’s all to it. Just a low key and fast ceremony followed by a few cell phone snaps and that’s a wrap. Listen, there’s nothing wrong with that all. I’m just here to tell you that there can be more to it if you want. It’s your big day after all, don’t you think that you deserve some awesome photos? Why does that have to be reserved for bigger traditional weddings? Let me take you through a photo walk of what your day can look like through a series of photos that takes place in Downtown Houston.

You’ve just said your vows and got married at 201 Caroline St and you’ve hired me to capture your wedding day. We’ve agreed to start at a rooftop near Main St. I follow from behind and catch some intimate moments as we wait for the elevator to take us to the top. Once there, I guide y’all through some poses as the suns rays wrap around the towering sky scrapers and cast lovely, deep shadows on the ground.

After a brief session, it’s time to celebrate with some alcohol! I blast off burst of photos and would later stich this into a fun GIF for y’all to share with friends and family on social media.

The celebration doesn’t stop there. We take the elevator back down and cross the street towards El Big Bad as strangers offer there congrats and comment on how amazing y’all look. It’s time for some shots and a moment to soak it all in while I continue to snap away in the background, acting like y’all’s own personal paparazzo. The owner of the establishment comes by to offer their kind regards and a private area where I’m able to fire off this especially sweet moment.

Wow! Y’all look so beautiful!

We thank the staff and make our way back out to the street to explore a little bit more of this corner of Downtown Houston. As y’all meander around I continuously look for interesting backdrops and find just that in this clock tower. It reads “Main at Texas” at the top and “Houston” at the bottom. A worthy snapshot to remember y’all’s elopement in Downtown Houston.

We continue on down Main, snapping photo after photo as y’all soak it all in. I continue to direct and guide, make small suggestions, but let y’all’s natural chemistry shine through. Finally the sun is starting to set and it’s starting to get darker. We wind down our session and say our goodbyes. This is where the day ends of me. But y’all have dinner plans nearby.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you. I hope that I was able to help paint a picture of what an Elopement might look like in downtown Houston. With some thoughtful planning, your intimate day can be as special and fun as any traditional wedding.
